Objective:
The food and nutrition project helps participants learn to make healthy food choices, reduce disease and illness risks, and gain knowledge of nutrition. Major learning experiences are centered around nutrition, menu planning, food buying and preparation, food safety, careers, and cultural influences. The Food Show is open to all 4-H members. The Food Show provides for educational and personal development and recognizes you who excel in the 4-H Food and Nutrition program.

Schedule:

8:00 a.m. All Agents, Judges and Nutrition Quiz Bowl contestants arrive

8:45 a.m. Judges Orientation – Room 3-9.1

8:45 a.m.
Category Chairman Orientation – Room 3-10.1

8:45 a.m.
Nutrition Quiz Bowl Orientation – Room 3-11.1

8:45 a.m.
Food Show Prep area is open to contestants and parents – Ballroom

9:15 a.m.
Nutrition Quiz Bowl Begins – Rooms 3-11.1, 3-12.1, 3-13.1 and holding room 3-14.1
Judging of all Quiz Bowl Contestants also entered in the Food Show will be worked into Food Show Judging.

9:30 - 12:00 Judging of contestants

1:00 p.m.
Presentation of awards – Ballroom

$2.00 4-H Connect Fee
$3.00 -- Food Show Entry
$3.00 -- Nutrition Quiz Bowl Entry
NOTE: Additional fees may be added if registering for Roundup


Entry Deadline: November 19, 2007 on 4-H Connect. Late registration will be held November 20-23 with an additional $5 late fee charged.
