Location:	Texas State University, San Marcos
Date:	Food Show/Nutrition Quiz Bowl -- Saturday, December 5, 2009 Food Challenge -- January 11, 2010
Objective:	The food and nutrition project helps participants learn to make healthy food choices, reduce disease and illness risks, and gain knowledge of nutrition. Major learning experiences are centered around nutrition, menu planning, food buying and preparation, food safety, careers, and cultural influences. The Food Show is open to all 4-H members. The Food Show provides for educational and personal development and recognizes you who excel in the 4-H Food and Nutrition program. Food Challenge is a team event for 3 to 5 4-H members and is patterned after the Iron Chef concept. Teams will be provided a list of ingredients and the supplies and will work together to create a recipe, prepare the dish, and prepare a presentation.
Fee:	$2.00 4-H Connect Fee $3.00 -- Food Show Entry $3.00 -- Nutrition Quiz Bowl Entry
Entry Deadline -- Food Show/Nutrition Quiz Bowl:	November 20, 2009 on 4-H Connect. Late registration will be held November 21-23 with an additional $5 late fee charged.
Entry Deadline -- Food Challenge	December 1-16, 2009 on 4-H Connect. Fee is $7.00 per person. Late registration will be held December 17-18 with an additional $5 late fee.
